It is good not to drive in the evening or night because you can cover scenic UT-9 in the morning.
I left the hotel at 7:00 AM and reached the park around 8:00 AM via UT-9. George, UT which is one hour drive from the park. You should enjoy the beautiful sounds of the running water :) I planned my trip by staying the night in St. There was lots of water in the river passing through the park. I visited the park in June, it was around 80F. It is a big park to cover in one day but you can take the bus from the base camp to quickly visit most important scenic points around the park. There is almost a couple of hours of hike from the base camp. Some of my favourites were Lower Emerald and Higher Emerald pool. There are so many scenic points all over the park. It is difficult to describe the natural beauty of Zion National Park in words or pictures.
